No matter what you say, AMD will be better because they offer similar or better ST performance AND they have better technology 7nm which is more efficient and faster.
hmm To further prove that the second gen Ryzens constituted the tipping point for AMD’s success, the Ryzen 7 2700X is currently the top best-selling CPU on Amazon, with a very enticing US$159 price tag. Intel’s only top 10 CPU is the i5-9600K occupying the 10th place, currently selling for US$222.99. The i9-9900K is occupying the 11th position, and most of the AMD CPUs are mid-range models. Here is the complete top 10 list:
From the slide deck, looks like Athlon Gold/Silver is not the ideal replacement for A6-9220C and A4-9120C, since the TDP is at 15W instead of 6W. The A6-9220C replacement is rumored to be "Dali" and I guess it will be announced later.
Athlon Gold 3150U is just under Ryzen 3 3200U, if we go by the name and clocks. So it's not meant to replace 3200U per se.
At least there will be more diversity at the low end.
I looked at the bottom of the slides and it says "Renoir/Dali product launch press deck". So I guess Athlon Gold 3150U and Silver 3050U are in fact Dali.
I still want to see what a fanless Ryzen laptop chip could do.

8 Core 15W AMD, what can Intel do with 10nm?Zen 2 has pretty much the same or faster ST performance vs Intel.

Enjoy your overpriced slow 4 throttling 10nm Intel cores :)vladx - Wednesday, January 8, 2020 - link
Agreed, but I'll probably go with a Comet Lake laptop since the higher frequency still no doubt makes it superior to Ice Lake.alufan - Thursday, January 16, 2020 - link

Dali is probably a refresh of the Raven2 on 12nm. Slides had it at the same tier as Raven2.nandnandnand - Monday, January 6, 2020 - link

3150u looks like a rebrand of Athlon 300U (Same clocks). They probably just wanted four digit namesneblogai - Tuesday, January 7, 2020 - link
Or, they wanted a lower SKU (like the current 2c/2t), but there was no easy way to go lower with the 300U name.
