When we reviewed Motorola's Xoom, all that was available was the $799 3G version. Since then Motorola has released a more affordable $599 WiFi only edition with 32GB of NAND on board. Inside the Xoom, as you're all familiar with is NVIDIA's Tegra 2 SoC. Tegra 2 was Google's reference SoC for the Honeycomb release of Android, and thus it's been the heart and soul of all recently announced Honeycomb tablets.

NVIDIA, eager to parade its success with Tegra 2, shipped me a box containing four WiFi Motorola Xooms to give away to our most loyal readers. We're still trying to contact the winner of the first Xoom. Remember you have seven days to claim your prize otherwise you forefit it. Also remember that the contest is only available to legal residents of the United States (excluding Puerto Rico). Be sure to read the eligibility section to make sure you aren't disqualified if you win!

Here's a shot of the remaining three:

We'll be giving one away every two days until we're out of WiFi Xooms. Sound like a plan?

To enter the contest simply respond to this post with comment explaining something you'd like to see in the next-generation of tablets or SoCs (please only respond once). Good luck!

Now the basic rules. The contest is only available to US residents and you're only allowed to enter once - for full details read below.

Entries will be accepted from 1:30 PM ET on April 19, 2011 through 1:30 PM ET on April 21, 2011. Winner will be selected by April 22, 2011.

Good luck everyone :)

I would like to see better handling of PDFs. Smoother page transitions and crisper rendering.

Preferably real Windows or OS X, with an optional tablet interface on top that works with real programs.

I want to have electronic paper as an accessory for my tablet. I should be able to wirelessly transmit file(s) to the electronic paper. I envision the electronic paper having an option to sync with the tablet. The tablet would recognize the device (perhaps already paired), and then prompt the user on the tablet for an action to take. From there I may be able to send Office docs, images, ebooks, etc. I wouldn’t need my Kindle any longer.

With the next generation, I'd like to see os improvements, not just eye candy. When in reference to a next gen system, the user interface and underlying os needs to be optimized to take full advantage of the upcoming tablets. One of the main issues that most readers find in reviews (of tablets) is the lack of stability in the current mobile os platforms. Android has become a prime example of this and honestly I find it to be one of the biggest pains to deal with. I can't name a single user that never tires of having to tap the screen twice to make sure that the selection was detected. I have had several "cheap" knock off tablets and not a single one seems to be able to handle the daily task of my children (Freescale and Cortex A8). Sitting there watching them jab at the screen several times over, only to have them walk up to me and say "it's not working, I want a new one." or something along those lines gets frustrating over time. They've been taught how to reboot the unit now, but it's the simple fact that the market is booming and manufactures are trying to push their products out as fast as possible so that they can grab some of the market share. So in the long run this is a toss up between manufactures failing to provide solid firmware and the mobile OS just not being able to handle task like a modern PC(which we seem to be a long way away from). Either way, the market is booming and everything is up for grabs. Long run, who cares how pretty it is. We just want a powerhouse that will allow us to take our "Virtual Social Life" and daily habits on the the go.

These need to be affordable- they are getting closer, but they still do less than a netbook for more money.
