Don't beat yourself up, quality over quantity. P.S would it be possible to include a table with the specs of the current gen compared to the old gen side by side? That is typically available in most smartphone articles you guys have.
Much better feel than the G2? The G2 is the best '-in-hand' experience I've ever had. I've had the super slippery glass back, the sensual HTC metal, and the ol' Sammy plastic. None of those matter anything like the shape/taper, and the G2 does that perfectly. ... Buttons on the back is stupid tho, to get purchase on them you have to squeeze the sides anyway, but I'll put up with that for the no bezel experience. Knock-on helps a lot.
Check out Anand's little summary of the new Qualcomm chips, but yes, the 801=AC. There is also an AB version of the 800, as well as the plain 8974. This pipeline story covers it.
Question: How big is the battery, and what is the estimated battery life, on the G2 Mini? One of my main interests in the G2 is the long battery life, but I prefer smaller phones (and possibly cheaper). (I currently have a Samsung Galaxy Skyrocket, and I have to charge it every day.)
Agreed, 5" is too big for a phone. But I really like the LG G2. Long battery life, fast, LTE, nice screen. If I could get the same phone just smaller for less money I'd do it tomorrow.
I really like the ideas behind the G Pro 2 (very large form factor and removable battery) and at first really wanted one, but I'm having second thoughts now that I've read further. First the knock code does not float my boat the way that a finger print reader would have. Second the 13MP camera is way behind the technology curve when compared to the 16 and 20 mega pixel competition, But for me the real deal breaker are the rumors that it will not support 128GB microSD cards. I store a lot of music and audiobooks on my phone, plus videos and >64GB expansion is a must-have on my check list.
if you care about how your music SOUNDS you might want to know that the lg's apparently have a better dac than the samsungs. and megapixels is just marketing. sensor size and the size of the sensor pixels matter in terms of noise and sensitivity. junky cameras may have a lot of pixels squeezed on a small sensor, and generate crummy images- but they're sold on the # of megapixels. image quality is the issue.

Sorry for getting this up so late, I didn't manage to get around to finishing the writeup that I had when the G Pro 2/G2 Mini launched. The Nokia X launch article was also missed, I'm working on it now. The GS5 launch just seemed to get in the way of things.

I second this request. I'd really like to see how this stacks up to the G2.coburn_c - Tuesday, February 25, 2014 - link

Is the 801 actually the MSM8974-AC, not the AB? I thought the AB is still firmly in 800 territory?evonitzer - Tuesday, February 25, 2014 - link

I was just wondering, since the article says the G Pro 2 has an 801, buy then gives the part number for the 800.Zuke1624 - Thursday, February 27, 2014 - link
